Gravity Reactor™ 14 mm Borosilicate Glass Connection Guide
The Gravity Reactor™ includes a standard nominal 14 mm borosilicate glass bowl connection with a ground-glass joint. The 14 mm size is widely used for glass accessories, but joint orientation, length, and physical clearance still need to match the Reactor.
What Comes with the Reactor
The complete Gravity Reactor™ kit includes its 14 mm borosilicate glass bowl connection, so an additional adapter is not required for the standard setup.
Why Borosilicate Glass?
Borosilicate glass is valued for temperature resistance and dimensional stability, which makes it a common material for technical and heat-exposed glassware. It is not unbreakable and can still chip, crack, or shatter if dropped, struck, forced into a joint, or exposed to damaging temperature shock.
Before Buying a Replacement or Accessory
- Confirm that the item is labeled for a nominal 14 mm joint.
- Verify whether the accessory is male or female and that it matches the receiving connection.
- Check the length and outside shape so it clears the Reactor frame during rotation.
- Do not assume every 14 mm accessory will have identical external dimensions.
- Do not force a glass connection that does not seat naturally.
Safe Installation
- Inspect both glass surfaces for chips or cracks.
- Insert the connection straight into the receiving port.
- Use light hand pressure only.
- Remove the connection before moving, transporting, or deep-cleaning the system.
